Patent and Trademarks Costs in Australia and New Zealand

While cost will depend on the scope of proposed work, we typically see patent and trademark filing costs in the following ranges:

• Australian Patent Filing Cost – including: meeting with you to understand your invention; preparation of a specification; revisions; attending to filing and payment of official fees – $3,500 to $5,500.
• Australian Trademark Filing Cost – including: meeting with you to understand your goods and/or services; preparation of a specification; attending to filing and payment of official fees – $770 to $1,200.

The final costs will depend on the Client’s specific needs and assistance.

Understanding there will always be budget constraints, careful consideration must also be had to ongoing prosecution, registration and renewal costs.
